![]() They were generally overlarge, and not as attractively shaped as would have been best (including an unusually ugly pork-filled bao). ![]() I wish I could say the dim sum were memorably good, but I can't. There were lots of carts, no gaps in their arrival, and a good variety of offerings. You don't go to a cart-organized dim sum place for intimate service. We were there for lunch on a Friday, and there were probably a couple of hundred people dining (very few of whom were other than Chinese), with a large number of unoccupied tables nevertheless. But the room - almost an arena - in which the food serving takes place is memorable and a lot of fun. The elevator was not working the day we visited, and the carpeting on the stairs was worn and far from clean. The old theater in which the restaurant is housed is tacky and seriously deteriorated. So, to put this bluntly, if you’re looking for an asian meal in Boston, do not go to this place ! Just keep walking or turn around and stay away from it !!Īs other have mentioned, the physical setting is unusual. ![]() The ambience we ended up having was an intertwining of calm and relaxing asian music on one hand and on the other hand were terrible Michael Jackson remixes… We ordered the check as quickly as possible and then came another waitress who was cold and rude and didn’t know how to split the check between my cousin and I…We got up and that’s when we saw the filth that was lying on our chairs. And at that point, things started to spiral downhill on the other side of the restaurant was a loud birthday party. The main courses were also okay if not for the astronomical portions we were served…At not a single moment did the staff tell us that we were ordering food that was meant for at least 4 people. Shortly after, our appetizers came in and everything was okay by that point (Note : I took some dumplings and I could already tell that the food was on a level below average). Then as soon as we were ordering, our waitress didn’t seem to understand what we wanted to eat. First off we thought that the interior could have been really nice if not for the cheesy and ugly neons they placed all over the room. ![]() Little did we know, we were stepping into something we would laugh about for the rest of our evening. We stumbled across this restaurant and we thought to ourselves : “Why not ?”. We decided, on a rainy evening, to just stroll around Chinatown and see what we could find. Me and my cousin were in Boston for a couple of days. ![]()
